Written while waiting in a cafe. Sapa, Vietnam. 2014

I can't even begin to explain how these past two and a half years have impacted my outlook on life, self, and the world. I've been witness to a newfound freedom that I feel so privileged to have crossed into. The people I've met, the things I've seen, the things I've done, and the things I've felt will continue on with me to wherever else I may rest my head.
The world is small and we are smaller.

I'm sitting in a small cafe, drinking mulled wine, in a small town in Northern Vietnam. A few months ago, I was unaware that this place even existed. But, I've just come back from a mountain homestay with a Hmong family. I'm wearing a wreath on my head that Mai Lay, my homestay guide, made for me from a fern as we walked down the mountain from her home. I just shared pumpkin soup with a lovely Israeli couple, Yael and Alon. Life is weird, amazing, beautiful, terrifying, and as potent at that moonshine I drank last night. Cheers!
